Gloria and Richard Miranda are founding members of the Temple. In the '50s, they were living in Newton and seeking a different religious experience. Along with many young friends in Wellesley, a social group was formed that eventually led to the formation of Temple Beth Elohim in 1959; Rabbi Jacob Lantz was their first Rabbi. “Our three daughters received religious instruction at the Temple and two were married in the old sanctuary, which is now the social hall. Over the years the Temple has grown in ways that we had never dreamed possible in the early days. Even though we have witnessed many exciting changes, the visions and values of the founders have been maintained strengthened. We are proud to be members of TBE: all are welcome with open arms; individual interests and talents are nurtured and utilized. Our religious school, numerous committees, adult learning experiences, and concept of community enhance the vibrancy of the congregation today. We are pleased to see the partnership that has developed between the congregation and the professional staff. During the early years, members were often depended upon to assist with the maintenance and room preparations for functions. Like others, TBE has become a second home for us. Its welcoming, comfortable environment has provided us with many close friends as well as exceptional opportunities. TBE has a wonderful personal feeling and our Rabbis’ and Cantor are very special. As we approach the building and endowment campaign we recognize the responsibility that members of the congregation have to sustain our growth and well being.” We are on a journey...
Walk with us and it will be good for you Bamidbar
