We have been members of the Temple since 1998 and our children Jacqueline (10), Jason (7), and Jonah (4) are receiving their Jewish education at TBE. From the Gan Elohim Nursery School to Limud classes, we have watched as our children have grown Jewishly – and through our own participation in the holidays, Shabbat services, Ikkarim, and various community activities, we have grown as well. The Temple has enriched our lives and has helped us look outward and ask questions like: How can I contribute to keep this community vibrant, innovative and relevant? How can I help TBE remain the gold standard for Jewish education and community throughout the Boston community and beyond?

Our affiliation has provided us with opportunities to make many new friends and become more intimately involved in thinking about TBE and the greater Jewish community. When we were asked to be part of the Campaign leadership with Nancy and Mark Belsky and Joan and Steve Belkin, we were honored and did not hesitate to accept the position, for we view this as a unique time in our temple’s history. Collectively, we have the opportunity to create a building that will fulfill our families’ Jewish needs for generations to come, and we look forward to engaging the entire TBE congregation in this exciting endeavor.

We consider the vision of our Clergy and the compelling mission of TBE as vital for the enrichment of all of our members. Over the past seven months, since earnestly beginning The Campaign for Temple Beth Elohim, we have been meeting with many of the families in our community and have been impressed with the commitment our members have for TBE and their unwavering support for this important undertaking.

Our Campaign is really like no other one we have ever experienced before. Rather than the traditional “quiet” phase with only a few major donors, we have begun meeting with congregants of all ages and giving ability, for we endeavor to run an open, transparent campaign that is consistent with TBE’s values, where all can be involved and every gift is truly appreciated. This process has also allowed us to gather wonderful feedback from the community on the campaign, our new building and the synagogue community in general.

We are grateful to all of the members of the Campaign Cabinet and to all who have welcomed us into their homes. We are also most appreciative to those who have made already made their financial commitments in our current Campaign. Our Campaign goal is $25 million, which includes a $2.5 million dollar endowment for the building. Over the coming weeks and months, we hope that you will welcome a request to participate and join us by investing in creating our new “home” that will remain warm, welcoming and inviting to all.

We are on a journey...
Walk with us and it will be good for you
